Thank you, everyone, for stopping by my twenty-first Weekend Writing Warriors’ #8Sunday and my thirteenth Snippet Sunday post. If you want to read more excerpts from other authors or to join in the fun, stop by both blogs and peruse their sights.
Today’s excerpt comes from chapter four of my suspense/thriller, HIM. A note: All sections in script form between Dr. Murphy and Amy take place one year, after her abuser’s crimes are made public. Many of you have wonder if her mother ever grows to believe her. Maybe this will give you a clue. Second note: I altered this scene to fit the blog hops guidelines.
Dr. Murphy: Did you talk to your mother this week?
Amy: She tried to call, but I can’t relive any of this with her right now.
Dr. Murphy: You still don’t think she believes you.
Amy: No, I don’t. I know she has heard all of the stories, who hasn’t? I know she knows more about what has happened to me than what I’ve told her, but, no, I don’t think she believes me.
Dr. Murphy: Maybe if she owns up to it being true, she has to admit her part in it, and she can’t do that.
Amy: I don’t know.
HIM is on sale and celebrated its one-month birthday yesterday. The novel has already received some amazing reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Most of the reviews forewarn people that this novel is graphic and is not for those who love beautiful Hollywood endings. So far, all have given it four and five stars, despite the content because of how moving and powerful the story is. I hope you enjoyed this snippet.
