Thank you, everyone, for stopping by my twenty-second Weekend Writing Warriors’ #8Sunday and my fourteenth Snippet Sunday post. If you want to read more excerpts from other authors or to join in the fun, stop by both blogs and peruse their sights:
Today’s excerpt comes from chapter six of my suspense/thriller, HIM.
I’d never in my life raised a hand to my mother or inflicted any kind of physical pain on her, and believe me I’ve wanted to on more than one occasion, but I did that day; the second day of our last vacation on Little Paw. When I saw that man walk into the main hall, I reached over, slammed my hand onto my mother’s upper arm, grabbing hold tightly, digging my nails in so hard I nearly brought blood. I was so angry, so hurt that my vision went a little blurry. I knew I was causing her pain, but my anger at her kept me from caring.
“Ouch. Damn it, Amy, that hurts,” she cried, trying to jerk her arm from my grasp. My grip just tightened.
“Tell me you didn’t know,” I demanded.
Thank you for stopping by.
