Author Update:
My FIL passed on the 25th of November around 10pm. Our hospice nurse told us that morning when she came that it would be that day, so we let people know. My husband, his best friend and his wife, and I spent a good hour with him around nine that night, then my MIL went in for a while. She'd only been out of the room a short time when I decided to go in and check on him.
I found him slipping away. It was the most heartbreaking thing to watch but at the same time they happiest thing to watch. To witness his suffering slip away from him as he shifted into peaceful oblivion was comforting for me. He believed in God but believed we ceased to exist after death. If that is what he wanted, I pray that's what he got or if there is a Heaven he's somewhere where he can drink beer, fish, play poker all day long, and watch Michigan football.
Of course last week I didn't do any writing or anything related to it.
This week, I've tried to throw myself in it all the best I can. We still have things going on at the house and to take care of for John, my FIL, but in my free time, I'm listening to Shore Haven and trying to get back into the swing of things. I've been waiting to message my editor to find out if she can finish Shore Haven until I know I'll be able to give the novel my full attention.
The wonderful Lynn Lamp is currently working on the full paperback cover, and the wonderful authors in one of my groups are helping work on the back cover synopsis/blurb, so I'm getting closer and closer to publication every day.
Also, the wonderful Melanie Smith created an amazing three-minute video for chapter 1 of the audio version of Shifter. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEaFSUQvN6k&t=1s
Melanie does a lot of things for authors. She created my brochure. https://view.publitas.com/jennifer-reynolds/jennifer-reynolds-book-brochure/
and my pages for the Connections eMagazine. I love her work. You can check her out here: https://melaniepsmith.com/for-authors/
